How to Build an Osclass Listing Moderation Workflow
A moderation workflow should separate queue decisions from private administrator context and preserve a clear approval path.
A queue is useful only when the decision is clear
Marketplace moderation works best when administrators can see what needs attention and what action is expected. Mixing listings, photos and edit requests into one undifferentiated stream makes review slower. Separate queues or filters help the moderator understand the object being approved.
Keep private context out of public listing data
Moderators sometimes need to remember a recurring issue with a seller or a listing. That information should not be inserted into public descriptions or visible account fields. Private administrator notes provide context without changing what visitors see.
- Write notes as factual context, not as public-facing copy.
- Keep the note associated with the relevant seller or listing.
- Use the moderation queue for decisions and notes for context.
Define what happens after approval or rejection
A moderation system should make the next state obvious. Approved content should leave the attention queue. Rejected or held content should remain traceable so another administrator can understand why it did not proceed.
