How to Improve Osclass Search with Tags and Currency Filters
Two practical Osclass search improvements: structured listing tags and a direct currency filter.
Add filters that represent real listing attributes
Search becomes useful when filters correspond to information sellers actually provide. Tags can describe a listing with short, reusable concepts. Currency is a different attribute that tells the buyer how the listed price is denominated. Both are more useful when they stay structured instead of being buried in free text.
Keep tags controlled enough to remain searchable
Unlimited uncontrolled tags quickly create duplicates and spelling variants. A practical implementation uses limits and exact matching, and may offer optional automatic tags when the marketplace has reliable rules.
- Keep tag names short and meaningful.
- Avoid creating several spelling variants for the same concept.
- Use exact tag search when the user selected a tag intentionally.
Treat currency as a filter, not a conversion promise
Filtering by listing currency is not the same as converting prices. A marketplace can let a buyer choose EUR, USD or another supported currency while preserving the seller's original listed amount. That keeps the search behavior transparent.
