Joomla Floating Contact Button Extension

Overview

TTB Floating Contact adds a lightweight, page-aware contact launcher to Joomla without requiring a template module position. It is delivered as a Joomla Package containing an administrator component plus a System plugin for safe frontend injection.

What it does

• Adds WhatsApp, telephone, email and custom web-link actions.
• Lets the administrator show the launcher on all pages, only selected Joomla menu items, or everywhere except selected menu items.
• Supports left or right screen placement, mobile visibility, colours, bottom offset and z-index controls.
• Uses a clear desktop contact label and a compact mobile launcher.
• Detects nearby fixed-position controls such as scroll-to-top buttons and automatically avoids overlap on the same screen side.
• Provides accessible open/close behaviour with Escape and outside-click close.
• Uses no external JavaScript framework, creates no custom database tables and calls no remote API for the widget itself.

Installation

1. Upload the ZIP in Joomla Administrator > System > Install > Extensions.
2. Open Components > TTB Floating Contact.
3. Configure at least one contact action and choose the page-assignment mode.
4. Save settings and verify the launcher on the selected frontend pages.
5. If needed, confirm that System - TTB Floating Contact is enabled in Joomla Plugins.

Requirements

• Live tested on Joomla 5.4.7.
• Joomla 6.x is an intended compatibility target; live runtime validation is still pending.
• A normal Joomla HTML frontend. No template module position is required.

Important

WhatsApp uses a standard wa.me link. The site owner is responsible for entering valid contact details and for any privacy disclosures required by destination services. Page assignment follows Joomla menu item IDs, so review assignments if site menus are substantially reorganized.
