Joomla Announcement Bar Module

Overview

A lightweight Joomla announcement and promotion bar with top/bottom placement, optional call-to-action and dismiss controls.

What it does

• Shows a site-wide announcement, maintenance notice or promotion bar.
• Supports top or bottom placement and static or fixed mode.
• Adds an optional call-to-action link that opens in a new browser tab.
• Adds an optional dismiss button with none, session or browser persistence.
• Uses configurable TTB colours and a frontend-safe inline fallback so the bar still renders correctly across templates.
• Creates no custom database tables and calls no remote API.

Installation

1. Upload the ZIP in Joomla Administrator > System > Install > Extensions.
2. Open Site Modules and create or enable TTB Notice Bar.
3. Choose a template position, configure message, placement, link and dismiss behaviour, then save.
4. Verify desktop and mobile frontend output.

Requirements

• Joomla 4.x, 5.x or 6.x target environment.
• A Joomla site template that renders the selected module position.
• No third-party runtime library is required.

Important

Browser-persistent dismissal is stored locally in the visitor browser. Review the setting together with the site privacy/cookie policy when local storage or similar browser persistence is regulated for the target site.

Updates and delivery

The purchase includes one year of free updates and protected account downloads.

Dismissal behavior

Changing the notice content creates a new dismissal key, so a new announcement is shown even to visitors who dismissed the previous one.
