Joomla Cookie Consent & Privacy Extension

Overview

TTB Privacy & Cookies adds a lightweight first-party consent layer to Joomla 4, 5 and 6. It provides a configurable privacy banner, granular cookie choices, Google Consent Mode v2 signals and consent-aware script loading without requiring jQuery or MooTools.

What it does

• Provides Accept All, Reject Optional and Manage Preferences actions.
• Separates Necessary, Preferences, Analytics and Marketing categories.
• Stores consent on Path=/ so it remains valid when a Joomla installation moves between a subfolder and the domain root.
• Supports host-only, shared-domain and custom cookie-domain modes.
• Provides configurable consent lifetime and consent-version controls.
• Sends Google Consent Mode v2 defaults and updates based on the visitor choice.
• Loads configured HEAD and BODY snippets only after the matching optional category is allowed.
• Adds a persistent Privacy settings control so visitors can reopen and change consent.
• Supports a configurable privacy-policy link, position and colours.
• Includes English and Romanian interface language files.
• Uses the native Joomla 4/5/6 plugin service/provider architecture.
• Requires no jQuery or MooTools dependency.

Installation

1. Upload the ZIP in Joomla Administrator > System > Install > Extensions.
2. Enable System - TTB Privacy & Cookies if it is not already enabled.
3. Open the plugin settings and review the banner text, privacy-policy URL, cookie scope and consent lifetime.
4. Place consent-dependent scripts in the matching Preferences, Analytics or Marketing fields.
5. Test Accept All, Reject Optional, granular preferences and consent withdrawal in a private browser window.

Requirements

• Designed for Joomla 4.x, 5.x and 6.x.
• Live tested on Joomla 5.4.8.
• A normal Joomla frontend that executes System plugins.
• HTTPS is recommended for production websites.
